The Japanese word kenson, means humility, modesty; an unspoken confidence that doesn’t need to boast. That spirit stayed with me, even when I left Japan. And when I drifted toward louder designs and well-known names, mistaking, as many do, prestige for progress, it was that spirit that called me back. In time, I found myself returning to the values that shaped me as a boy.Kenson was born from that return. Not as a statement piece. Just the opposite, in fact; a reflection, a meditation. Kenson is for those who don’t need a watch to prove anything. Rather it is for those who carry themselves quietly, and with purpose. Those who understand that true luxury doesn’t need to say it’s luxurious.

Every surface of a Kenson watch reflects a choice; not for attention, but for integrity.The flanks are tsuchime-finished, a traditional hammering once used to harden steel. Recreated from a forged original, it is precision-milled into hardened titanium. A quiet texture, visible only from the side.The dial evokes washi paper; a metaphor. Fibers layered like memory, printed with depth and finished to capture shifting light.Even the strap speaks in a whisper: hand-cut Himeji leather, vegetable tanned and indigo dyed. Prized for centuries not because it stood out, but because it endured.

The Koro GMT was designed for those who move with quiet intent. Its titanium case is strong but light; meant to disappear on the wrist. Inside, a true traveler’s GMT movement keeps track of home and away with effortless grace.But Koro isn’t just a name. In Japanese, it evokes the soft passing of time; of things drifting, shifting, traveling.Between the lugs, we’ve engraved the coordinates of the Nihonbashi Marker; the point from which all distances in Japan are measured. It marked the beginning of the Nakasendō, an ancient road traveled by poets, merchants, and messengers. They carried little, but journeyed far.So does the Koro. It isn’t for those who need to show where they’ve been. It’s for those who already know where they’re going.

The Koro Washi GMT is powered by the Miyota 9075; a true GMT movement with local hour jump-set. Regulated for greater accuracy and protected within a hardened titanium case, it’s as practical as it is precise.The 24-hour scale is engraved on the rehaut, clean and legible. A screw-down crown ensures water resistance. Even the clasp preserves the strap’s shape. Every decision reflects quiet discipline. Form serves function, without compromise.
